What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Engine Mechanic / Groundskeeper position at Hutto ISD?

Primary Purpose :

Maintains / repairs power equipment such as portable saws, mowers, weed eaters, custodial vacuum cleaners (hand-held and backpack) and also maintains safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district.

Qualifications :

Education / Certification :

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Valid Texas driver’s license, insurable with Hutto ISD insurance carrier, and a good driving record.

Special Knowledge / Skills :

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs and maintenance.

Knowledge of, and ability to operate, tractors, work trucks, Z-trac mowers, weed trimmers, blowers, power tools, hand tools, gasoline backpack blowers, etc.

Ability to trim shrubs / trees, rake and mulch, plant trees and shrubs, etc.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Ability to read and understand written instructions.

Ability to communicate in English.

Salary : $18 - $21
