Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations of our medical facility, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. If needed can help in taking the vitals of the patients and medication information.
- Review documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain health information management by organizing and updating patient records.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to assist in scheduling appointments for medical services.
- Handle insurance verification and communicate with insurance providers as needed.
- Assist with medical office management tasks, including answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and scheduling appointments.
- Process medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate billing and record keeping.
- Experience
Candidates should possess experience in a medical or dental clinic environment, with a strong understanding of medical office operations. Previous roles involving documentation review, health information management, and insurance verification are highly desirable. Familiarity with hospital settings is also beneficial. A background in using electronic health record (EHR) systems will be an advantage. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
