Generator Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in equipment repair and maintenance, demonstrating proficiency with both hand and power tools. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

Additional Information

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:00pm, Rare Overnight Travel Required

Candidate Location: will consider candidates within 75 miles of market location. Technicians must be willing to commute to regional warehouse locations weekly to replenish truck.

Preferred Candidate Background

seeking candidates with experience troubleshooting, maintaining & repairing any/all makes of generators. You are looking for consistency in work history. Certifications from generator manufacturers are a plus (I.E., MTU, Cummins, John Deere, Kohler)

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all makes of generators.
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
• Completing preventative maintenance and repairs on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components of the generator, engine, and switch gear.
• Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department, and customers
• Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
• Meet requirements for certifications.
• Perform administrative duties as related to role.

Power Generation Technician/Mechanic Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with industrial power generation sets.
• Experience with diesel and natural gas engines, electrical switch gear, and automatic transfer switches
• Must have your own set of general tools.
• Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Use computers for web-based training and repair order system.
• Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.
• Clean driving record and the ability to pass a D.O.T. Physical

Ideal Power Generation Technician/Mechanic Candidate qualities:

• Technical degree or certification a plus
• Positive attitude and excellent customer relationship skills
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
• The ability to set goals and accomplish them.
• The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work with little supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
