Summary

This Area Assistant Director of Operations primarily oversees hotel services in Rooms operations for Hyatt Centric and Caption by Hyatt on Beale Street including Front Office, Housekeeping/In House Laundry, Security, Valet (outsourced) and also assists in F&B when needed. Maximizes room revenues, controlling expenses, and driving the highest level of customer service. Analyzes rate variances, monitors credit reports & maintains close observation of daily house counts. Coordinates major projects such as renovations, capital expenditures, & equipment changes. Conducts weekly divisions meetings, including monthly financial review with subordinate managers & senior hotel directors. Prepares revenue & occupancy forecasting & monitors labor expenses through schedule approval process. Hires, manages & trains subordinate managers & employees. In order to be considered, this person must have Hyatt experience.


Duties include:

  • Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the Hotel Operations.
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans
  • Experience supervising all Departments
  • Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance position of property
  • Developing standards and operating procedures.
  • Hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews
  • Oversee the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for Rooms operations
  • Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality
  • Implement procedures to increase guest and associate satisfaction

Performing daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with all appropriate standards

Qualifications

  • Progressive hotel experience
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Proven leadership skills with Hyatt preferred
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
