Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting Greeters to join the hotel's opening team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. Opening in late 2024, the property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by Jos Andrs, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who's who of Miami. Spanning 25,000 square feet of innovative indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach will become a landing spot for guests and locals seeking celebratory gatherings that embrace the city's culture of music, art, and fashion.
Position Summary
Andaz Miami Beach is looking for greeters who are excited, qualified, hard-working, individuals with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior guest service. Experience with Micros, high volume, and extensive hosting are all beneficial but not required. The Greeter is the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A friendly demeanor, exceptional customer service skills and the ability to multitask contribute to the overall success of this position.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines.
- Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Provides prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to our guests
- Performs opening side work and set up station
- Attends and participates in any training sessions, department meetings
- Listens to guests and anticipates their needs
- Completes closing side work for specific table sections
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a genuine smile and positive attitude.
- Manage the flow of guests by taking reservations, assigning tables, and ensuring efficient seating.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area, including the host / hostess station and waiting area.
- Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth, coordinated, and fair seating process to ensure servers are not overwhelmed or understated.
- Escort guests to their assigned tables, present menus, and assist with seating arrangements. Accommodate special seating requests if possible.
- Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to any inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and restaurant promotions to provide accurate information to guests.
- Handle guest complaints or issues professionally or bring them to the manager when necessary.
- Assist in coordinating reservations and managing the waitlist.
- Collaborate with the restaurant team to ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage smooth and efficient table turnover.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20lbs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle high-volume situations efficiently.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, providing excellent service even during busy times.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and familiarity with reservation systems is a plus.
- A positive and friendly demeanor.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the restaurant's schedule.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
