Currently, the Hyatt Place Portland Old Port is looking for a top-performing full time Front Desk Supervisor.


Are you looking for a rewarding leadership opportunity and have previous experience as a front desk agent? We’re hiring a full time hotel Front Desk Supervisor to lead our fantastic team. Our front desk supervisor will be responsible for managing the reception area, supervising front office staff, enforcing hotel policies, and ensuring exemplary guest services. Primally scheduled 3pm-11pm, the supervisor position is expected to be flexible to maintain coverage for the front desk department as necessary, and work with the team to ensure hotel standards are met.

Some Key Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Direct operations at the front desk and ensure customer service meets our high standards for guest satisfaction
  • Train, and supervise front office employees, ensuring they provide excellent guest services and enforce hotel policies. Must be fair and equal with interactions both positive and negative with staff.
  • Interact with customers both in person and over the phone, assist with inquiries, and mitigate any guest complaints
  • Handle the front desk inventory and order office supplies as needed, working with both the AGM and F&B managers as necessary
  • Respond to guest reviews, comments and concerns in a professional manner and act in the hotels best interest in all transactions and interactions with hotel guests
  • Work with Sales department to ensure accurate and smooth operation for group arrivals and meeting space usage.
  • Compile reports and other data for General Manager
  • Flexibility with time and availability to maintain coverage of the front desk department to meet hotel needs, including covering for overnight shifts and short-notice front desk associate absences.


Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent certification required
  • At least two years of work experience in office management as a front desk supervisor, assistant front office manager, or similar position in the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of general hotel industry practices and policies
  • Possess excellent management skills, communication skills, and multitasking skills
  • Proficient bookkeeping skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, are strongly desired
  • Applicants must be able to work weekends & holidays.
