Job Description

As the Bar & Lounge Manager at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, you will oversee all aspects of bar & lounge operations, ensuring each element conforms to legal standards and company policies. Your role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of service, managing staff efficiently, and fostering a knowledgeable team capable of delivering an exceptional beverage experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the bar, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company operating procedures.
• Manage staffing, including hiring, scheduling, and training employees to meet service standards and operational needs.
• Develop staff knowledge on a wide range of spirits, wines, and beers to enhance guest interactions.
• Implement effective cost control measures for beverages, optimizing profitability while maintaining quality.
• Maintain inventory levels, ensuring the bar is well-stocked with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
• Foster a positive, productive work environment through clear communication and leadership.
• Analyze sales and customer preferences to adjust offerings and promotions effectively.
• Handle any guest inquiries or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Work in close collaboration with the Restaurant Director to ensure consistency and high levels of service.
• Oversee the restaurant during the director’s days off or absences.

• Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar leadership role in a hospitality environment.
• Extensive knowledge of spirits, wines, and beers, along with a passion for beverage service.
• Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex operations.
• Experience in beverage cost control and inventory management.
• Ability to lead and train a team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing and moving for extended periods.
• Compliance with all local, state, and federal beverage and licensing regulations.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the hospitality industry.
