Overview 

HYCU is seeking a Global Controller that will be responsible for all accounting, financial reporting, tax and compliance for the Company. You will lead the day-to-day accounting activities and play a critical role in optimizing financial performance and driving strategic decision-making with leadership and various stakeholders in a fast-paced B2B SaaS environment.   

 

Location 

  • Boston, MA (Hybrid; 3 days onsite/2 days remote) 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead, mentor and manage a high-performing global team, ensuring team members are aligned with global accounting policies and best practices 
  • Oversee global accounting operations and monthly/quarter/annual close processes , ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local country-specific standards (e.g., IFRS, local tax regulations) 
  • Review and approve financial reports for management, board of directors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring reports are clear, insightful, and accurate 
  • Manage the financial statement audit process, liaising with external auditors for successful completion by agreed upon deadlines 
  • Assess the impact of any changes in accounting standards, providing timely recommendations to the executive team and implementing any required changes in financial processes 
  • Ensure proper documentation of all significant accounting judgments and estimates in compliance with internal policies 
  • Oversee the correct application of revenue recognition principles under ASC 606 for subscription-based revenue streams and other SaaS-related income 
  • Working with the sales and legal teams to ensure that all contracts are reviewed for proper revenue recognition, considering subscription terms, performance obligations, and any variable considerations 
  • Provide strategic guidance and insights on revenue recognition matters to the finance team and senior leadership 
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls to ensure the integrity of the global financial reporting process, focusing on risk mitigation and compliance 
  • Oversee global tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns in all jurisdictions 
  • Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure that all tax positions, including VAT/GST, income tax, and transfer pricing, are properly addressed 

 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required) 
  • CPA strongly preferred 
  • 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance preferably in high growth B2B SaaS 
  • Experience in global or multinational environments is highly desirable, including familiarity with international accounting standards and cross-border financial regulations
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, Loal GAAP). 
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring global teams 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with global teams and senior executives 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities 
  • High proficiency in Excel and other financial tools, with the ability to analyze large data sets and generate reports 
  • Experience with systems & tools such as ADP, Expensify, Tipalti, Salesforce, Cradle and Carta 

 

It’s Great if You Have:  

  • Experience with ERP implementation and driving systemic automation  
  • B2B SaaS experience 
  • Experience within data protection, cloud-native, security, data storage industries

Pay Transparency  

The anticipated cash compensation range for this position is $155,000-200,000 USD annually. The cash compensation package includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HYCU's bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all roles are eligible to participate in HYCU’s equity plan and benefits program. Individual compensation packages are determined by a combination of factors unique to each candidate, including location, level, relevant experience, and skills. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position across all US locations. 

Salary : $155,000 - $200,000
