RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate automated bandsaws. Cut material according to written instructions and procedures.
- Reviews Sawcal software to determine the necessary adjustments to the feeding guides, blades, settings, or speed.
- Visually inspect bar stock and tube to determine it meets specifications (including military specifications, blueprints and job orders).
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly machine maintenance requirements.
- Operate saws in a safe manner, conforming to all Hydrasearch and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain equipment by monitoring blades and coolant; changing blades and replacing coolant as
- Use material handling equipment including forklifts to safely retrieve materials from storage locations and move to the cutting area. Follow shop orders and prints.
COMPETENCIES:
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Forklift Certification required.
- Attention to detail: The candidate will assure the lot tracked inventory with heat numbers that need to be identified and assigned to specific jobs.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
- Stay on task and communicate well with others.
- Attention to detail; ability to read and understand documents such as blueprints and drawings, safety rules, operating instructions. Mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally over the course of a shift.
