HR Payroll Coordinator

Hydro Resources is a top tier firm within the groundwater services industry delivering tailored solutions throughout the central and western regions of the United States. This position will report directly to the General Manager and Office Manager.

Responsibilities :

  • Process and monitor FMLA and Workers' Compensation occurrences to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Monitor, review, and approve employee time and attendance punches, ensuring accuracy of recorded hours and leave balances.
  • Ensure accurate payment of overtime rules across multiple states, adhering to local and federal regulations.
  • Verify each employee is paid according to specific job requirements, whether they be prevailing wage, normal wage, or any combination.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism in all interactions and communications.
  • Handle confidential employee information with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Provide training and support for local office employees regarding mobile time-tracking applications.
  • Process new hire onboarding, employee benefits, and HRIS data updates in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct background checks for new employees and ensure all required documentation is processed in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Process and maintain I-9 forms through E-Verify for all new hires, ensuring accurate completion and compliance with federal regulations.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements :

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 2 years of relevant experience in payroll or a related field.
  • Experience with Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll Reporting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR and payroll principles, including recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, and personnel information systems.
  • Must be knowledgeable and stay up to date with state-specific laws, regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in using ADP Workforce Now, ADP Enhanced Time, ADP Mobile App, or similar HR and payroll management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills, with the capacity to handle complex situations promptly and accurately.
