The Accounting Manager oversees financial operations, cost accounting, and compliance to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficiency. This role involves managing accounting staff, optimizing financial processes, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial controls within a manufacturing environment.

- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and review financial statements, cost reports, and operational budgets.
- Analyze financial data to support production efficiency and cost reduction strategies.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and industry-specific accounting standards.
- General Accounting Operations:
- Supervise daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, and tax filings.
- Implement and monitor financial controls to prevent errors and fraud.
- Track and process incentive payouts for sales and other employees based on performance metrics and company policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial projections.
- Monitor manufacturing costs, overhead expenses, and cash flow.
- Identify opportunities for financial optimization and process improvement.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
- Implement and improve internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain accuracy.
- Coordinate with auditors for internal and external financial reviews.
- Team Leadership & Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing training and career development.
- Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to align financial goals with operational efficiency.
- Communicate financial performance and recommendations to senior management.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5 years of accounting experience in the manufacturing sector, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage 500, NetSuite, or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
