Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring program success by leading the PPAP for assigned programs. Reporting to the Quality Engineering Supervisor, the Quality Engineer will support the Regional APQP Engineer by participating in the creation of PFMEA’s, CP’s, and process documentation.
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years Tier 1 Automotive Experience.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
6 Sigma Green Belt preferred and proven competence using advanced problem solving
Practical experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, tool usage and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Competent in problem solving tools such as 8D methodology (Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.)
Competent in quality tools, and process/production control methods such as (Control Plans, FMEA,GD&T,MSA,PPAP,SPC)
Ability to read and interpret drawings to ensure the understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements
Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with Tesla or Extrusion preferred
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure MSA studies and adequate Gage R&R for launching programs are conducted
Develop control plans and training materials
Develop inspection criteria and documentation
Support runs for pre-series production to ensure quality and on-time launch along with testing equipment capabilities
Monitors the approval of supplied components
PPAP preparation and submission
Reviews GD&T and gauging methodologies for assigned program
