My client, a V30 law firm, is seeking a highly skilled associate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) law to join their New York office. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising U.S.-based corporations, financial institutions, and investment firms on ESG regulatory compliance, sustainable finance, and corporate governance matters.

The role can be based nationally throughout the US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising U.S. clients on compliance with ESG-related regulations, such as SEC disclosure rules, shareholder engagement trends, and emerging state and federal ESG requirements.
- Structuring and implementing sustainable finance initiatives, including green bonds, sustainability-linked loans, and ESG-focused investment funds.
- Counselling clients on ESG risks and opportunities, such as climate change policies, supply chain due diligence, and corporate social responsibility.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to navigate the intersection of ESG with U.S. securities law, corporate governance, and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience advising on ESG-related matters at a leading law firm or in-house.
- In-depth knowledge of ESG frameworks, including SEC regulations, corporate sustainability reporting standards, and U.S.-specific governance considerations.
