Job Description for Painter - Industrial Coatings
Individual experiences in the specialized field of industrial and architectural coating services utilizing surface preparation and/or coating applications.
Secondary duties shall include industry equipment operation, containment installation, protective covering installation and maintenance, or power tool operation.
Painter duties and responsibilities
Painters are responsible for site preparation, colour matching, surface preparation and applying paint and other finishes to walls, ceilings, furniture and other surfaces. Additional duties and responsibilities include:
- Working with clients to ensure they complete the work according to the requirements
- Measuring the work area to calculate the time and materials required to complete the project
- Preparing the surrounding area, including covering fixtures and furniture to prevent messes
- Preparing painting surfaces, including removing old paint, filling holes and cracks and washing walls
- Choosing the tools to complete the job
- Mixing and matching paints and colours to meet the texture and look required for the project
- Applying paint, varnishing and other finishes,
- Cleaning up painting tools and supplies, replacing fixtures and rearranging furniture after completing the project
- Collaborating with painters on other larger jobs
- Working with other construction professionals such as, contractors, carpenters, electricians and plumbers when necessary

Job Requirements for Painter for Industrial Coatings
Essential Qualifications for Industrial Painter
· Knowledge and skill apply coatings utilizing brush and roll
· Knowledge and skill to apply coatings utilizing spray (airless or conventional) pump
· Knowledge and skill to utilize ultra-high pressure
· Knowledge and skill to utilize abrasive blasting
· Ability to work in a small team environment
· Willingness to travel 50%
Minimum Qualifications for Industrial Painter
· Must be a US citizen
· Must be able to walk, crawl, climb ladders and stairs without restriction
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds
· Must pass an occupational physical
· Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays and varying shifts as required
· Must submit to pass a post-offer drug screening
Experience for Industrial Painter
· Minimum 3 years working in industrial coatings
Education or Certifications for Industrial Painter
· None
