What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Materials Testing Technician (CMT, Engineering Technician) position at HydroTech Environmental and Engineering?
HydroTech Corp. is looking for a self-motivated, team-oriented individual with good communication skills, to fill a full-time position as a Construction Materials Engineering Technician. The role will be field and lab work done primarily on project sites where you will:
- Observe and document the work being performed
- Read the project plans and specifications to determine compliance
- Sample, test, and observe the placement of soil, reinforcing steel, concrete, grout, masonry, and asphalt
- Perform basic math calculations to determine compliance
- Communicate with the on site sub-contractor, contractor, and owner's representative
- Coordinate other HydroTech technicians to complete the work
- Assist in training new technicians in field testing
- Assist in training new technicians in laboratory testing
You MUST be able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds.
2 years experience testing soils and concrete, and an American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification, ICC certification, or NICET certification is a plus.
You MUST have a current driver's license and reliable transportation to our office in Terre Haute.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to work independently, organize and manage multiple tasks with a high level of detail and project assignments, and interact well the HydroTech team.
