Summary/Objective:
HydroWorx is the world leader in aquatic therapy and fitness equipment. Located near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, HydroWorx develops and manufactures aquatic therapy pools for use in Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, Senior Living and the Military. We are a medium-sized manufacturing company focused on growth, expansion into new markets, and improving our leadership position in existing markets.
The Cost Accountant will be involved in the accounting cycle of the business. Responsibilities will include overseeing inventory management including the performance of account reconciliations, cycle counts and variance analysis. Additionally, the Cost Accountant would provide financial analysis support to various departments, assist with month-end close processes, and conduct financial analysis. Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Maintain and analyze cost accounting records, ensuring accurate valuation of inventory, cost of goods sold, and production variances.
- Fully oversee inventory management, including reconciliations, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and update cost standards, ensuring they accurately reflect material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Lead the yearly cost standards update process, collaborating with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely updates.
- Monitor standard vs. actual costs, investigate variances, and provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision-making and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and company policies.
- Support audits and internal control initiatives related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Protect the Companys confidential information.
- Foster a continuous improvement environment by helping to develop, document, and implement accounting department best practices and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance department
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, Required.3-5 years of related experience.
Cost accounting experience is required, preferably in manufacturing, distribution or inventory-driven environment.
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment or prior cost accounting experience preferred.
Skills/Competencies:
- Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, inventory management, and cost standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, with preferred experience in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
- Advanced Excel and MS office programs including (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Experience with Month End Close procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
- Team oriented.
- Attention to detail and deadline oriented.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear in order to exchange information.
This is largely a sedentary role. Occasionally moves to access files, fax & copy machines. On occasions may lift up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and is eligible for remote work two days a week.
