Position Summary

As an Human Resources Specialist at Hyertek, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing our people operations. You will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to ensure effective talent management, employee development, and compliance with all relevant regulations. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and a passion for nurturing a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, including creating job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and extending offers.

  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and positive experience for new hires.
  • For government-based roles, conduct and coordinate comprehensive background checks and security screenings to ensure candidates meet all federal and organizational security requirements.

Employee Relations

Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.

  • Foster an inclusive and supportive workplace culture that aligns with Hyertek's core values.
  • Performance Management

    Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on performance-related issues.
  • Compliance & Policy Administration

    Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

  • Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
  • Compensation & Benefits

    Support benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.

  • Assist in salary benchmarking, pay structure revisions, and other compensation-related tasks.
  • Training & Development

    Identify skills gaps and assist in creating training programs that address development needs.

  • Coordinate workshops, seminars, and team-building activities that promote professional growth.
  • HR Administration & Record-Keeping

    Maintain accurate employee records, including HRIS data, personnel files, and compliance documentation.

  • Generate HR metrics and reports to inform strategic decision-making and process improvements.
  • Culture & Engagement

    Collaborate on initiatives to enhance employee engagement, recognition, and retention.

  • Participate in planning and executing company events, community outreach, and other culture-building activities.
  • Qualifications & Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen (no exceptions)
  • Ability to work onsite in Rockville, MD, 2-3 days per week
  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 4 years of experience in an HR role, with broad exposure to multiple functional areas of HR (recruitment, employee relations, compensation & benefits, etc.).
  • Experience in Government Contracting
  • Knowledge of local and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus but not require
