Ensure processes, work instructions, standard tooling, technician training, and deviation control methods are in place and available to manufacturing supervisors and technicians prior to beginning work to effectively improve quality, cost and delivery.

Summary
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Monitor and provide engineering support to ensure customer products are manufactured and processes are operating economically and in control per management goals and quality expectations. Analyze, write, and implement deviations, develop and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure drawings, bills of materials, inspection check sheets, and other information is available and used during manufacturing. Ensure the documentation and document books are completed, accurate, up to date, and with the product throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Monitor production progress to schedule and ensure production control boards and schedule displays are updated.
- Review customer delivery projects for raw materials, indirect materials, and consumables required in manufacturing. Ensure the raw materials, indirect materials, and consumables are ordered, delivered, and transacted to the manufacturing technicians in a timely manner to ensure continuous manufacturing.
- Assist production supervisors in trouble-shooting process and quality problems. Act as a first level deviation approver. Perform root cause analysis, develop and implement countermeasures based on PDCA process.
- Review, edit, and write work instructions. Ensure availability to technicians in the work areas.
- Lead the training of manufacturing technicians through work instructions, standardized Lean methodologies, and process changes. Ensure the technician skillset is accurately displayed in the training matrix and develop technician training plans for upcoming special work, upskill, and increased capability.
- Review specifications for new equipment, TPM requirements and operating work instructions.
- Support equipment installation, process description, and operational/performance qualification activities for manufacturing equipment and manufacturing processes. Ensure all related documentation is in compliance with internal requirements including but not limited to 6S, crane logs, tool control, TPM, etc.
- Analyze plant layout and propose improvements for manufacturing flow.
- Ensure labor is collected, analyzed, and reported in a time manner. Assess and measure labor content to set process standards and evaluate variances.
- Assist business areas in the creation of time-based Standard Work for all task and activity.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop technical solutions to manufacturing problems, finding solutions that are thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.
- Apply statistical tools to complex problems and teach statistical tools to others as required.
- Play a leadership role in the Plant Safety Program.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of Hyosung HICO.

- Support and assist the Manufacturing Manager as needed.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in manufacturing/tooling or related field required and 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with related products, or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of and skill with using statistical tools such as design of experiments (DOE), 6 Sigma and/or Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Knowledge, participation, and leading others in the use of Continuous Improvement processes including Kaizen, VSM, SMED, PDCA.
- Proficient logical and critical thinking skills including the ability to develop, analyze and draw conclusions to problems.
- Developed verbal and written communications skills.
- Working knowledge of computer and other systems, emphasizing MS Office products, PLC’s and equipment control systems.
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, SAP preferred.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
