Job Description
HMS is seeking to fill a dual role position, splitting time as a Patient Success Coordinator and a Hyperbaric Technologist at its Manhattan, NY location.
As a Patient Success Coordinator, your primary role is to ensure that every patient has a wonderful experience at our center, from start to finish. The Patient Success Coordinator performs a variety of functions to support the clinical, billing, and management teams of the organization. But again, above all else, the primary focus of this position is to create an exceptional experience for patients, their caregivers, their referring physicians, and everyone looking to learn more about HBOT and our other services. All responsibilities and tasks are focused on our mission to serve our patients’ health goals.
As a Hyperbaric technologists (HBO Tech), you'll have direct interaction with patients from a different perspective, overseeing their care process each and every day. As a result, our HBO Techs are invaluable to creating and maintain a safe and extraordinary experience at Hyperbaric Medical Solutions. HBOT care is daily, so patients develop strong bonds with our staff, especially the HBO Techs - a relationship that is developed through trust and confidence in the expertise of each technologist. HMS is seeking Paramedics, EMTs, experienced Hyperbaric Technologists, and Certified Hyperbaric Technologists (CHT). Experience preferred, but will train non-experienced candidates who demonstrate thoughtful attention to detail, and who take ownership of process and practice operations.
Candidate must be willing to work in a collaborative, team environment. This position will work closely with clinical and administrative staff at both this office, as well as at other HMS locations.
Responsibilities and Expectations as Patient Success Coordinator:
- Welcome patients with cheer, enthusiasm, and confidence;
- Help keep office clean and tidy;
- Perform day-to-day administrative functions, including the following:
- Receive and manage phone calls
- Assist in patient schedule management
- Maintain clean, timely, and accurate data entry
- Collect patient payments
- Work closely with the billing department reviewing patient accounts
- Work closely with clinical team to retrieve required medical records
- Support Director and/or Billing manager with any projects and tasks required
Responsibilities and Expectations as Hyperbaric Technologist:
- Prepare for each HBOT session to ensure that each patient has safe and comfortable treatment experience
- Reinforce patient education for hyperbaric therapy
- Maintain complete and accurate patient treatment documentation
- Perform hyperbaric chamber operations and system maintenance as required, and is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chambers and related support systems
- Provide therapy and equipment orientations during new patient consultations
- Maintain a clean and presentable work environment
- Assist patients with whatever they need, providing high-quality service and ensuring they exceed the patient's expectations
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills with outgoing and professional personality
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be New York State certified and/or licensed or hold a diploma from an accredited institution, and have a minimum of six (6) months experience in one of the following vocations:
- Paramedic
- EMT-I or EMT-B
- Must hold current BLS certification
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a collaborative care environment
- Must show critical thinking, technical, and interpersonal skills, plus be able to interact with patients and their families in a manner that instills confidence and facilitates communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Computer proficiency - ability to learn and work simultaneously on multiple systems with accuracy
- Physically able to lift 25 lbs.
- Not a necessity, but a plus if at least two years of relevant experience in a healthcare office support role or spa/hospitality customer service
