Core Job Responsibilities
Serve as the leader of all shop floor operations
- Provide leadership, management, and accountability to the Lead Fabrication Technician, Lead Testing Technician, Equipment Manager, and Composites Development Engineer
- Serve as liaison between engineering team and shop floor operations team. Coordinate required engineering work for a variety of fabrication and testing operations.
- Motivate team in meeting business objectives
- Own shop floor layout and flow
- Own shop cleanliness and organization, generate and implement a well-oiled 5S system
- Own building and equipment performance
- Responsible for fabrication and testing deliveries (quality results, on time, in budget)
- Direct the daily shop floor huddle
- Initiate and promote employee engagement efforts
Uphold all safety standards and policies
- Lead by example by always following safety standards and policies
- Train shop floor employees on safety standards and policies and hold them accountable to these
- Operate within an AS9100 quality management system
- Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts
- Carry out all shop floor activities with meticulous attention to documentation, traceability, and repeatability
Typical Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- BS Degree in a relevant discipline (Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, etc.) from an accredited university
- At least 5 Years of industry experience in a related field
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)
