What You Will Do
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world projects that impact the development of Hyster-Yale’s advanced material-handling equipment. This internship will provide hands-on experience in electrical engineering principles, testing, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities Include
- Assisting engineers in the development of Three-Wheel Stand and Order Selector programs.
- Troubleshooting existing forklift trucks by diagnosing and resolving electrical system issues.
- Gaining hands-on experience with analog circuit analysis, motors, harnesses, and multimeters.
- Learning to operate forklift trucks to better understand their electrical systems.
- Working collaboratively with engineers on design improvements and efficiency optimization.
- Supporting engineers with routine tasks to improve departmental efficiency.
- A proactive learner with a drive to expand your engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- An engaging, outgoing individual who enjoys working in teams and collaborating on projects.
- A detail-oriented and hands-on individual who enjoys tinkering with electronics and applying classroom knowledge to real-world applications.
- A good communicator who can effectively interact with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and ready to take on challenges.
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Standing as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college.
- Basic engineering knowledge (analog circuit analysis, motors, harnesses, and multimeter use) - willingness to learn is key!
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis.
- A strong interest in hands-on work and troubleshooting.
