What are the responsibilities and job description for the AI & Design Visualization Specialist position at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc.?
Kia Design Center America located in California is currently looking for a [Senior/Lead Visualization / AI Designer] that will:
- Create high-quality, photo-realistic renderings and animations.
- Strong ability to visually communicate design proposals in form of Storytelling and contextual Design.
- Development of 3D assets and refinement of existing assets from Design teams for rendering and VR scenes.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead design projects from start to finish, under time management and resource constraints.
- Research and analyze trends in Design Visualization and AI tools as well as emerging technologies, products, fashion, and architecture.
- Be able to attend auto shows and other design-related events.
- Be able to work self-sufficiently, while mentoring less experienced designers.
- Willingness to travel international, primarily to South Korea once in a while.
- Oversee the development of the Visualization process and work with the CAD modeling team in order to streamline work flows.
- Work closely with Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Design Team to discuss design criteria. Incorporate the criteria to meet engineering and manufacturing requirements, for example kinematic models for accurate functional visualization and story telling.
- Produce presentation-ready materials to support design reviews.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and constantly pushing for improving delivery standards
- Drive discussions around technical solutions, with the goal to improve our capabilities and overcome limitations.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS, BFA, MS, MFA or Diploma in product/Transportation design.
- Minimum 8 years of professional design experience at an Automotive or Product Design studio.
- Strong ability to utilize various types of 2D and 3D visualization software (Photoshop, VRED, UNREAL ENGINE, Keyshot, Vray etc.), digital modeling skills (preferably, Alias, SubD, Maya, or Blender) and experience with prompting AI tools in order to generate AI generated visualizations.
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
