POSITION OVERVIEW: The Contracts Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the contract lifecycle, from initial drafting and negotiation, through execution and renewal. In addition, the Contracts Coordinator will support all functions of the General Counsel’s Office, including legal research, reports, training, compliance, and administrative tasks. This role serves as a critical link between the General Counsel and procurement, commercial, sales, finance, HR and other business departments to ensure obligations are met and documented accurately. The Contracts Coordinator will be the second hire for the Legal Department and growth opportunities are projected over the next 3 to 5 years.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:
- Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the full contract lifecycle including drafting, review, negotiation support, execution, maintenance, and renewal
- Maintain a centralized contract repository with proper documentation and filing systems
- Track contract milestones, deadlines, and renewal dates to ensure compliance with terms
- Identify potential risks in contract terms and escalate to appropriate stakeholders
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and approvals
- Process legal invoices and other business-related expenses for payment
- Tracking and reporting on outside counsel activities and expenditures.
- Assist in developing and standardizing contract templates and processes
- Support in reviewing, updating, and drafting policies and procedures
- Conduct legal research and support drafting legal memos and advisory opinions
- Create executive reports concerning contracts, policies, training, and legal matters
- Communicating effectively with various stakeholders through in-person, phone/video calls, text, and email.
- Proofreading, reviewing, and drafting legal correspondence.
- Independently reviewing non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements.
- Providing administrative support to the General Counsel.
- Scheduling and coordinating meetings.
- Supporting the Legal Team's special projects and long-term initiatives.
- In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.
- Be a team player.

- Be reliable (with reliable mode of transportation.)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Teams knowledge and skill are required
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Experience with legal terminology and contract principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under deadline pressure
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Legal Studies, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, or legal support
- Paralegal certification or equivalent
- Experience with electronic signature platforms (Docusign)
- Familiarity with some of the following areas of law: commercial contracts, NDAs, employment law, labor law, regulatory and compliance, corporate and business law, and international law.
- Experience working in a law firm and in-house legal setting
- Knowledge of relevant automotive and manufacturing regulations
- Familiarity with procurement processes
- Project management experience
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
- A typical work week is 45 hours/week.
- Working hours for employees are flexible with a typical day starting 7am- 9am M-F.
- Hybrid work schedule- 3 days on site required.
