About the Role
Hyve Solutions is seeking a Principal Hardware Storage Architect to lead the architecture and development of next-generation storage platforms for hyperscale datacenter environments. In this highly visible role, you will define and influence the technical direction of Hyve’s JBOF, NVMe, and disaggregated storage systems, working closely with silicon vendors, component partners, and hyperscale customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture definition for storage platforms including JBOF, EBOF, and pooled flash systems.
- Collaborate with silicon providers (e.g., Broadcom, Intel, AMD) and customers to drive performance, density, and cost-optimized storage designs.
- Evaluate and select key technologies: PCIe topologies, CXL, NVMe, storage fabrics, retimer strategies, and thermals.
- Define system-level BOM, architecture diagrams, and interface specs.
- Partner with mechanical, signal integrity, firmware, and validation teams through design, bring-up, and qualification.
- Own technical readiness for customer engagements and roadmap reviews.
- Provide guidance on manufacturability, quality, and field support considerations.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in datacenter hardware development with emphasis in storage systems.
- Strong knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, I2C, SMBus, and board-level design principles.
- Familiarity with hyperscale customer requirements and production-scale design cycles.
- Experience with SSD technologies (U.2, EDSFF, Gen-Z, CXL preferred).
- Excellent cross-functional communication and system thinking.
