Summary/Objective
The Microsoft 365 System Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and supporting the Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring the organization’s cloud-based collaboration and productivity tools operate securely and efficiently. This role includes the administration of Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and security tools within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The administrator will work closely with IT, security, and business units to optimize system performance, enforce security policies, and improve user experience.
Essential Functions
-Manage and maintain the configuration of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive
-Monitor system health, performance, and service availability of M365 workloads
-Manage licensing, and permissions within Microsoft Entra ID
-Plan and implement new features and updates keeping the technology infrastructure modern and efficient
-Working with security team members, implements and enforces security policies, including MFA, conditional access and data loss prevention
-Ensure compliance with industry standards (HIPAA, etc) through proper configuration and governance
-Administer and optimize Microsoft Teams for meetings & chat
-Support and configure Exchange Online, including email security, spam filtering and mailbox policies
-Manage SharePoint and OneDrive, ensuring proper permissions, governance, site configurations, and data retention policies
-Develop PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks, reporting, and system monitoring
-Leverage Power Automate and other tools to enhance business workflows and integrations
-Optimize system configurations to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead
-Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365 applications and services
-Develop process and governance documentation and training materials for end users and IT staff
-Adheres to company policies and procedures in addition to regulations, laws and other requirements from applicable governing bodies, certifications, licensure and/or accreditation entities, etc
-This job operates in a professional office environment

Education, Skills, Experience and Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive, related experience with a minimum of 3 years in IT system administration, infrastructure, or security.
-Minimum 3 years in IT system administration, infrastructure or security
-Experience with Cloud Services (Microsoft Azure).
-Expertise with Microsoft applications Outlook, Exchange, Teams, One Drive
-Professional certification preferred in one of more relevant areas (Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
-Ability to explain technical problems to business users
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, if applicable.
