Position Overview:
A seasoned Project Manager is sought to lead electrical Transmission projects with a high level of proficiency and expertise. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Field Leadership, internal departments, and customer representatives to deliver projects on time and within budget.
This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where efficiency and effectiveness are valued. The successful candidate will also have the chance to mentor Associate Project Managers, guiding them in developing their project management skills.
Location & Travel:
- The position requires presence in our Central market, preferably near York or Macungie office
- This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work from IB Abel office and home when necessary
- Suitable travel arrangements will be made for visits to customer job sites, other offices, yard locations, and training sessions
Responsibilities:
- Review RFP, proposal, estimate, schedule, and contract documents to understand project requirements and obligations
- Develop Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSP) with the Safety & Quality department for submission to customers
- Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, manpower, tools, equipment, and material deliveries, as well as procurement of materials and services
- Establish, maintain, and communicate construction schedules for assigned projects, ensuring milestones are met
- Arrange and facilitate preconstruction meetings, 3-week look-ahead meetings, and project walk-downs with customers
- Regularly visit project sites to monitor progress and build rapport with field crews and leadership
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project costs and assess subcontractor and vendor performance; submit weekly financial reports
- Collaborate with the Project Accountant to track financial processes of projects, including change orders, projected cost at completion, revenue, and gross profit
- Complete project closeout procedures
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Associate Project Managers to ensure effective adherence to the project delivery process
Qualifications:
Required:
- At least 2 years' experience in electrical transmission and/or distribution project management
Other:
- Valid Driver's License or equivalent
- Ability to present acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorizations per the Federal I-9 requirement
Desired:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or related business/mathematical discipline from a four-year college or technical school, or comparable equivalent education and work experience
