What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Camera Technician with extensive experience in the installation, programming, and maintenance of various security camera systems to join our Decatur, Al team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with IP, analog, and wireless camera systems, as well as a solid understanding of networking principles and low voltage wiring. This position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of troubleshooting, configuring, and optimizing surveillance systems for commercial and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain security camera systems, including IP, analog, and wireless setups.
- Run and terminate low voltage cabling (CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial, fiber, etc.) for camera and network connectivity.
- Program and integrate cameras with DVR, NVR, and cloud-based monitoring platforms.
- Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
- Perform regular system maintenance and upgrades to enhance reliability and security.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to assess security needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and service calls.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Security Camera Installer.
- Strong knowledge of security camera technologies, including IP cameras, PTZ, thermal imaging, and AI-enhanced surveillance.
- Proficiency in networking concepts such as IP addressing, port forwarding, and remote access configurations.
- Familiarity with major security brands (Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Avigilon, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
