What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low-Voltage Technician Helper position at I.C.E Contractors?
I.C.E. Contractors, Inc. is a growing and established Commercial and Industrial Electrical and Low-Voltage Contractor, and has an immediate need for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the low-voltage industry. This entry level position will be responsible for, but is not limited to, establishment of cabling pathways and the installation of multiple types of low-voltage cabling at various regional commercial retail locations across the Southeast United States with several other regional locations likely. We seek self-motivated, and reliable individuals who are willing to travel extensively, work varying shifts including overnights, and who are eager and willing to learn and grow in their knowledge of the low-voltage industry. Advancement into other positions within the industry is possible.
Job Responsibilities
- Pulling, identifying and terminating various cables including, but not limited to 18/6,14/2,12/2 or Cat5E wire in a construction setting.
- Installation of electrical boxes and possibly conduit to support wireless security installation.
- Be able to work independently without direct supervision and be able to effectively communicate to lead technician and management regarding the progress of the project.
- Meet established timelines for completion to ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to safely use various types of man lifts and hand/power tools as well as being able to work from ladders, scaffolds or at heights above 25 feet.
- Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as being attentive to detail.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times while representing I.C.E. Contractors.
- Will be responsible for project completion within a specified area or region based on location. Some travel over longer distances and stays of a month or more will be required as work warrants.
- Advancement in the low-voltage electrical field is possible with experience.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience pulling low-voltage cabling and establishing pathways is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Able to operate different types of aerial man lifts is preferred. Training can be provided.
- Willingness to learn and progress in the low-voltage cabling industry.
