PROJECT ENGINEER - AUTOMATION (Please note there is no sponsorship for this role, nor C2C)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Project Engineer with a focus on automation to join our team. This role will involve the design, engineering, and implementation of automation systems for various projects, working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming, control systems, and system integration, with a keen eye for detail and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and engineering efforts for automation projects, including creating detailed drawings, PLC programming, operator interface design, panel design, and documentation, under the guidance of the Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer.
- Serve as the primary interface with customers and suppliers to ensure project design requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Manage the startup and commissioning of automation systems, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
- Support business development efforts by assisting in generating new projects, providing proposals, quotations, and preliminary engineering and design for new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the CAD Department and production teams for the creation of system drawings and the assembly of control panels for assigned projects.
- Coordinate with the Management team for accurate customer invoicing and financial tracking of project expenses.
- Provide regular, detailed documentation of time and progress on each project and task for accurate reporting.
- Ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in PLC programming and automation systems, with at least 3 years of relevant experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of control system design, operator interfaces, and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with project management, including proposal preparation, project scheduling, and cost estimation.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using CAD software for system design and panel layouts (preferred).
- Ability to travel for site visits, system installations, and commissioning (up to 25% of the time).
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
