Asphalt Foreman

We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Asphalt Foreman to join our team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Foreman with a proven track record in running a paver and leading paving crews. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in asphalt paving and possess strong leadership and communication skills to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. This position requires proficiency in equipment operation and an understanding of elevations, as well as experience in running various heavy equipment including a motor grader, backhoe, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the asphalt paving crew to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
• Operate and maintain paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, and related machinery.
• Conduct and verify shooting of elevations to ensure accurate paving surfaces.
• Operate other heavy equipment as needed, including motor graders, backhoes, and other construction machinery.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations, ensuring that all team members work in a safe and organized manner.
• Communicate effectively with crew members, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and operational issues as they arise.
• Ensure the highest quality control in paving operations, maintaining smooth, durable surfaces.
• Train and mentor junior crew members to develop skills and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in asphalt paving, with significant experience running a paver and supervising a crew.

Strong knowledge of shooting elevations and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Proven ability to operate motor graders, backhoes, and other construction equipment.

Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and dedication to safety.

Must have eligible drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in road construction and infrastructure projects.

Certification in heavy equipment operation or related fields or in-field experience.

Familiarity with industry-standard safety regulations and practices.
