Summary Description

As an Escalation Manager working within Operations, you will be responsible for facilitating and implementing the escalations path and management from the helpdesk for a wide variety of clients. These escalations include multiple disciplines within IT infrastructure including server, networking, storage, security, email migrations and virtualization.  This position also requires regularly learning of new technologies, software and best practices and activities.  Additionally, continuous personal development outside regular business hours is mandatory to succeed and advance in the position.

Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving software and hardware problems, serving as a critical point of contact for escalations when IT problems arise, and solving day-to-day problems for our valued clients.  This may require on-call, evening and weekend escalation coordination and management.  Other responsibilities will include special projects or assignments as needed.

Responsibilities :

  • Supports Microsoft Windows Desktop and Windows Server (CURRENT VERSIONS), development and migration (MCSE certification ideal) :

Active Directory and Group Policy

  • File and Print Services
  • Terminal and Remote Desktop Services
  • VMware vSphere Virtualization deployment and migration experience (VCP Certification ideal)
  • Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 deployment and migration experience
  • Advanced network configuration experience, including VLANs, spanning-tree and routing (CCNA Certification ideal)
  • Advanced firewall / Intrusion detection configuration and management experience, preferably using Dell SonicWALL (CSSA Certification)
  • Work with Storage Area Network Systems
  • Researches and communicates new solutions based on client needs / requests.
  • Analyzes client issues through root-cause analysis and problem management as it relates to client profitability and recurring issues
  • Participates in the process improvement meetings
  • Performs additional responsibilities, such as of a Senior Technical Engineer
  • Promote teamwork and cooperative effort
  • Help train and give guidance to other i.t.NOW employees
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Microsoft Windows Desktop and Windows Server Support
  • Networking and Firewall Support
  • Server Hardware Technologies
  • Data backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support and VPN Connectivity Support
  • Server virtualization deployment and migration
  • Remote or On-site Client Support
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks under pressure and tight deadlines.  Readiness to accept and adapt quickly to change
  • Credentials and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience - Active Directory Support, Microsoft Windows and Windows Server Support, Microsoft Exchange Support
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience – Cisco / HP Switching / VLAN / Routing / Firewalling Support
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience - Server Hardware Technologies (CPU / RAID / SCSI) Support
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience - Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity Support
  • Have multiple certifications, high skill level.  The following certifications are preferred : MCSA / MCITP, CCNA / CCDA, VCP, Project , Network
  • IT Project Management Experience
  • Create and execute project work plans, SOW and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Completes projects within established budget and timeline
  • Maintain an awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application in client’s environment.
  • Create, update and maintain documentation
  • Support internally managed applications (e.g. monitoring tools)
  • Additional Responsibilities :

  • Analyze and document business processes and problems. Work with CEO and additional team members to develop solutions to enhance efficiencies.
  • Foster healthy and happy relationships between i.t.NOW and clients
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Requirements :

  • Completion of project management course desired
  • 8 years in related field
  • 5 years previous experience with i.t.NOW or similar MSP-like environment working within multiple technical areas, including bench, alerts, helpdesk, subject matter expert, backups.
