Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors to our merchandise store and our charitable gaming location. This role requires strong conflict management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in various situations. The Security Officer will play a crucial role in loss prevention and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, assessing the situation and taking appropriate action.
- Conduct regular surveillance using CCTV systems to ensure safety and security within the premises.
- Enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying potential risks and reporting incidents as necessary.
- Provide first aid and CPR assistance when required, ensuring the well-being of individuals on-site.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary, providing detailed reports of incidents as required.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for record-keeping purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security or law enforcement is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with surveillance equipment such as CCTV systems is advantageous.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
- Knowledge of loss prevention strategies and techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a valid security certificate or be willing to obtain one upon hiring.
- A background in military service is a plus but not required.
