Overview: i2M, a leading manufacturer of flexible polymer films, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Calendering & Finishing Supervisor to lead our calendering and finishing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for day-to-day oversight of the calendering line and all downstream finishing activities, including rewinding, slitting, and sheeting. The ideal candidate has experience in plastics extrusion and/or calendering, with a strong track record of manufacturing leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day shift operations in the calendering area and finishing department, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to quality standards.
- Provide clear direction and daily work assignments to operators, technicians, and finishing team members.
- Ensure product quality meets or exceeds specifications—identify and eliminate issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area, enforcing 5S and safety protocols.
- Coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with production planning, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
- Track production metrics, report on performance, and contribute to problem-solving and process optimization initiatives.
- Lead by example with a hands-on approach and positive leadership presence on the production floor.
Qualifications:
- Required: 3 years of manufacturing leadership experience in plastics extrusion, calendering, or a related process environment.
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively, give clear direction, and hold others accountable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of production equipment, especially in film or sheet production.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on zero-defect production.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field a plus.
