The ideal candidate will be crucial in supporting the optometric practice by assisting with patient care, performing preliminary eye exams, and managing medical records. Responsibilities :
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and conducting preliminary tests.
- Record patient medical histories and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including visual acuity, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Educate patients on contact lens care, eyewear options, and post-examination instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow within the clinic.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment following aseptic techniques.
