Job Summary
Our technicians troubleshoot, repair and maintain our extensive instrumentation, analyzer, and computer control systems to make sure our plant operations run smoothly and safely.
Job Description
Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following (Note: These are subject to change as business and other conditions require):
· Perform I&E maintenance, I&E PM’s, and coordinate electrical work involving contractors.
· Responsible for procurement and inventory of electrical parts.
· Participates in installing all electrical components safely and troubleshoots problems with said equipment
· Assisting other I&E techs in the asset.
· Expected to grow and assume additional responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
· High school diploma or GED
· Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
· Must be willing to work overtime and handle call-outs.
· Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
· Must live or be willing to relocate to within 35 miles of the reporting location
· Basic Computer Skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Able to examine/analyze equipment for defects
· Able to use electronic diagnostic equipment
· Knowledge of plant processes, electrical layout, safety systems and area classifications
· Able to read P&IDs, control loop diagrams and electrical diagrams
· Installs, troubleshoot, and maintain end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, variable frequency drives, air/fuel controllers, panelboards, etc.
· Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) Continuous Emission Monitoring (CEMS). Tail Gas Analyzers.
· Maintains advanced monitoring devices (gas, flame or fire detectors, vibration & temperature monitors)
Desired Qualifications
· Prefer a candidate with a minimum 2 years previous I&E experience.
· Journeyman electrician certificate is desirable as well as experience programming PLCs/DCS.
· Prior Plant Operations experience helpful.
· Demonstrates sound judgement with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are detected.
· Must be able to assume responsibility and perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
· Must have a record of very positive work performance, very good safety record, knowledge of safety rules and practices, ability to perform work independently, history of being dependable and reliable, good organizational skills, and good customer relations
· Must be open to learning, have a history of being able to work as part of a team, take pride in a job well done, and enjoy working hard
· Must be able to work well with others
· Must be able to follow written or verbal instructions in English.
