Job Summary
The Enterprise Account Executive is responsible for the sales efforts of the organization with regards to the IAPP’s corporate membership, event sponsorship, and certification and training products. This individual will demonstrate solutions by using a combination of consultative sales strategies and tactics, including identifying key decision makers, determining organizational goals and needs related to information privacy/data protection, crafting and presenting (verbally, electronically and face-to-face, as appropriate) solutions meeting those goals and needs, overcoming objections and effectively closing opportunities. The individual thrives in a hunter/consultative sales role and is self-directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sell corporate membership, event sponsorship and certification and training programs to Forbes global 2,000 and other relevant companies
- Cultivate relationships and practice effective account management to acquire new organizational members and to continually increase certification and training opportunities throughout the enterprise
- Learn the language of IAPP certification training and membership to be able to provide expert consultation with prospects
- Manage time effectively to maximize direct selling efforts
- Identify new opportunities and make calls to increase sale
- Demonstrate a working understanding of information privacy/data protection law, regulation and practice
- Effectively use Customer Relationship Management software (currently SalesForce) to record and update leads, contacts, opportunities and campaigns
- Represent the IAPP at industry trade shows and IAPP events
- Work with Marketing Department to identify sales and lead generation campaigns
- Work with the Events Department to ensure sponsorship requirements are appropriately defined and fulfilled
- Work with Sales Operations staff to maintain accurate inventory for both events and advertising products
- Participate in department sales meetings
- Practice effective expense control
- Ability to travel, including internationally

Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or university; and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
