Accountant
IATSE Local 871 is seeking candidates for the position of Accountant. IATSE Local 871 represents a diverse group of crafts in Film, Television, Commercial and Broadcast Production -- Script Supervisors, Teleprompter Operators, Production and Assistant Production Coordinators, Art Department Coordinators, Production and Assistant Accountants, Script Coordinators, Writers’ Room Assistants and Sports Stage Managers. The Local has been experiencing significant growth and needs to fill this position immediately.
Accountant duties include:
· Overseeing all accounting office personnel and procedures
· Generating quarterly reports, reviewing all records, motions, and documentation on a quarterly basis; distributing these reviews for the Board of Trustees for their quarterly review; answering, providing evidence, and qualifying all Board of Trustee concerns.
· Preparing all financial reports for monthly Board of Directors meetings
· Preparing and tracking the annual budget
· Conducting banking reconciliations
· LM2 Classifications
· Tracking event classifications per Board motions and reconciling those events
· Coordinating financial/member database management with provider; implementing billing cycle and suspension/expulsion process
· Processing employee payroll and member payments; tracking all financial arrangements made by the Business Representatives.
· Handling all secondary accounting duties as directed by the Business Representative.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years of Accounting experience; CPA is preferred, not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred
- Experience in QuickBooks is required
- Tech savvy with ability to learn and be proficient with use of company database and other software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, etc.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, time management skills, and the ability to handle complex work efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work onsite 5x a week in Burbank, CA
