Position Title: Waterpark Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Status: Full Time Hourly, Non-Exempt
Summary of Duties:
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the attractions and facilities of the waterpark, including but not limited to; general and preventative inspections and maintenance of the attractions, pools, facilities & equipment, proper water chemistry of the attractions within the waterpark, repair maintenance as required and property winterization. Exceeding Guest expectations through maximization of uptime, facility aesthetic & achieving the highest levels of safety in the industry.
The ideal candidate should be adaptable to the business needs, possess the practical skillset and knowledge in one or more trades; such as plumbing, pumps/motors, filtration, pool operation and be adept to working in various environmental conditions.
Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safety of the property, including waterpark attractions, and compliance with all applicable federal,
state, local and company codes, standards and procedures including, but not limited to; CDC, NYS Department of
Health, NYS Department of Labor, OSHA, manufacturers and internal safety procedures.
• Perform routine inspections following inspection schedules, preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the
waterpark attractions and facilities, including replacement of worn and/or defective parts.
• Repair and troubleshoot the waterpark attractions and facilities as necessary; respond to calls for maintenance
checks, waterpark attraction shutdowns and/or system faults. Work closely with the Operations Department to
maximize attraction safety and uptime on all property waterpark attractions.
• Maintain waterpark cleanliness standards within Guest areas, in addition to pump rooms, back areas, Maintenance
Shops, chemical storage, etc.
• Complete, maintain and verify required documentation; including inspections, preventative maintenance,
corrective actions and/or repairs performed, water quality inspections, and water remediation logs.
• Maintain appropriate levels of critical parts inventory for each waterpark attraction to ensure attraction down
events are prevented and minimized, including consumables such as pool chemicals.
• Observe and report park conditions, communicate trends and recommendations to resolve/mitigate.
• Fluent in emergency and evacuation procedures for each waterpark attraction and the property.
• Ensure winterization on required waterpark attractions, equipment and facilities are performed as season requires;
Perform annual waterpark attraction maintenance and rebuild(s) during down season as required/necessary.
Responsible for annual spring waterpark startup.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships within the property.
• Protect company assets through proper use of tools and equipment and the adherence to the standard of overall
cleanliness and organization of Maintenance Buildings and work areas.
• At times, this position may be required to assist in dry park operations and routinely with off season maintenance
efforts.
• Other duties as needed and/or assigned by Management.
Job Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED supplemented by a minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical/industrial
maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required
knowledge, skills and abilities. Waterpark maintenance and/or plumbing experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to efficiently
manage time and work without direct supervision.
• Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the primary job duties, including climbing
and working at heights, crawling and working in confined spaces and occasionally lifting weight up to 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid Certified Pool/Spa Operator Certification (CPO) or ability to obtain within the first year of
employment.
• Ability to manage stressful situations and successfully work under pressure. Must have a strong level of work
ethic with a high level of integrity.
• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist and reach above shoulders.
• Ability to work in an environment with high levels of noise and vibrations.
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screen, credit check and background check.
• Must have reliable transportation.
Wage Range: $16 - $22 per hour based on experience
