Your Opportunity
Stantec has an opening for an experienced Professional Land Surveyor to join our Community Development group.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and responsible for work on mapping related projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, control surveys, land descriptions, and subdivision mapping on public and private land development projects.
- Task Management, including managing, scope, schedule, and budgets
- Oversee financial details and performance of survey projects and/or tasks
- Supervise technical office and field staff assigned to your team.
- Able to perform survey calculations, analysis and final map checking, abstracting title data, and record drawings research.
- Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents.
- Coordinate survey efforts with clients and other professions within Stantec.
- Sign and seal survey documents.
- Perform survey project quality control and quality assurance.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Advanced knowledge of local survey laws, surveying principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
- Proficient in relevant technical software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and/or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations.
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
- Demonstrates strong math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the state of California is required.
- A bachelor’s degree or a survey related program; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years Land Surveying experience preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, including directing workloads, developing staff, and completing performance assessments.
