Our reputable client is actively seeking a highly skilled and licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting precise land surveys to establish property boundaries, collect geospatial data, and provide critical support for engineering, construction, and land development projects. This position requires a deep understanding of surveying principles, regulations, and technology to ensure the delivery of accurate and reliable results.
Key Responsibilities :
Surveying and Mapping
Perform detailed field surveys to establish property boundaries, rights-of-way, and easements.
Create accurate maps, plats, and reports using collected data.
Utilize GPS, total stations, drones, and other surveying equipment for precise measurements.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Analyze and interpret field data to verify the accuracy of survey results.
Prepare and review survey drawings, legal descriptions, and documentation.
Maintain accurate records of survey data and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to provide survey insights and recommendations.
Communicate survey results effectively to project stakeholders.
Serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings, if required.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure surveys comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Perform quality control checks on surveying processes and deliverables.
Project Management
Manage multiple surveying projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Oversee and mentor surveying technicians and junior staff.
Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to clients and management.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field or equivalent field and office experience.
Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in CA.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying.
Proficiency in surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center) and geospatial tools.
Strong knowledge of boundary law, legal descriptions, and construction staking.
Skills and Competencies :
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
Ability to work independently and lead a team of surveyors.
Physical ability to work outdoors in various terrains and weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications"
Familiarity with drone technology and LiDAR for surveying purposes.
Experience with project management software.
Membership in professional organizations such as NSPS or ASCE.
