What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Iberia Gastroenterology Associates?
We are looking to add a receptionist to our team. The position has a large amount of patient contact. The receptionist is mainly responsible for greeting patients, and checking them in and out, answering phones, taking messages, and entering/scanning demographic information. In addition, he/she collects patient’s financial responsibility, balances the financial collections everyday, and prepares demographic and financial information for the next day.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical administrative support and front desk operations
- Proficient in managing medical records and patient services
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with EHR systems
- Detail-oriented
- Team player
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
- Excellent clerical and office experience, with a focus on customer service
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems and perform medical collections as needed
