A Commercial Underwriter is a crucial part of the Access Plus Team, ensuring exceptional service for our valued customers. A Commercial Underwriter will manage underwriting processes, provide comprehensive support, and foster long-term partnerships with our member agents and company representatives. This role requires effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to manage client inquiries, data, and contribute to team success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communication:
- Process member agent’s requests efficiently, answer inquiries promptly (same day or next day by phone/email), and maintain open communication to build strong relationships.
- Managing underwriting processes and quoting needs, reviewing existing policies, and assisting member agents with inquiries.
- Responsible for underwriting and writing new business for member agents, contributing to the growth of the member agent’s and company’s client base.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in our CRM, monitor assigned tasks, and provide complete information to internal teams as needed.
- Proactively identify and resolve member agent’s concerns, collaborating with colleagues to find solutions that meet their needs.
- Generate reports as required, assisting with data analysis to identify trends and support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments to achieve shared objectives and foster a professional and respectful work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Customer Service:
- Deliver outstanding customer service by processing member agent’s inquiries efficiently and accurately. Specifically pertaining to quote requests that are submitted, but also assisting with renewal business.
- Demonstrate a high level of organization and attention to detail. This ensures accurate data entry in the management system by keeping client information, policy details, and claims activity up to date.
- Work effectively with colleagues, including fellow Underwriters and member agents. This includes collaborating to achieve team goals and contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Take ownership of work, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in completing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills by independently managing workload and proactively identifying and resolving customer concerns. Seek support and collaborate with colleagues when facing complex issues.
- Active Colorado P&C License.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial insurance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with management systems such as Epic or similar software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Full Time.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MST.
