Compensation and Benefits: $ 56,485 - $65,000 annual salary.

Role Overview
The QC Underwriter and Auditor is responsible for conducting Quality Control Audits in compliance with agency guidelines and MSFs Quality Control Plan. Additionally, this role provides support for other auditors by answering questions and offering training as needed. The QC Underwriter and Auditor ensures a high standard of credible and reliable customer service for both internal and external stakeholders, with a strong focus on loan review quality and compliance.

Essential Duties: In addition to related job duties as assigned, this position will:
Perform QC Pre-Funding and Post Closing audits on residential mortgage loan files.
Identify issues that may result in the ineligibility of a loan with investors or the inability to sell a loan on the secondary market.
Perform reverifications for post-closing audits, documenting the process and responses in MSFs Quality Control software.
Communicate effectively and timely with operations staff to address any outstanding, or unresolved issues and escalate critical concerns to Quality Control Management.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of the audit process from beginning to end in the Quality Control software utilized by MSF.
Manage time efficiently and prioritize workloads to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple tasks.
Must stay current on all agency, state, and federal guidelines, and participate in on-going training as the mortgage industry evolves.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge

A minimum of 5 years mortgage underwriting experience, preferably with an auditing or testing background.
Proficiency with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Experience and familiarity of the Loan Origination Systems (LOS): BytePro and Encompass are a plus.
Ability to adapt quickly to other loan operating and loan information systems as needed.
Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently.
Extremely detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Capability to multitask in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Professional appearance (business casual).
Professional, courteous, friendly demeanor and excellent phone etiquette
Ability to follow directions accurately and execute tasks accordingly.
Must successfully pass a background check.

Physical Requirements
Stationary position; prolonged periods at a desk and working on the computer.
Occasional movement about inside the office to walk to offices and office machinery.
Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
