Corporate Director of Behavioral Programs
The primary functions of the Director of Behavioral Programs are:
• to plan, develop, and evaluate Behavioral Programs and other Clinical Operations related to challenging resident behaviors,
• to provide training and consultation to facility staff in effective and safe management of challenging resident behavior, and
• to assist as needed in the evaluation of residents and applicants for placement behavioral symptoms and conditions.
Responsibilities:
o Work directly with nursing facility administration, management, staff and residents towards the successful implementation of programming and services that may best meet resident behavioral, cognitive and psychosocial needs,
o Provide onsite and remote consultation to nursing facilities in the management of and care planning for challenging resident behaviors,
o Provide or coordinate as needed training to facility direct care staff in the safe management of challenging resident behaviors,
o Participate in corporate operations and facility planning meetings for the development and implementation of specialized programs,
o Assist in special projects that may involve the movement or integration of behavioral program participant populations from one setting to another,
o Assist in the planning and implementation of special projects related to the development or transition of specialized behavioral programs.
o Assist iCare Operations with special projects, including meetings with local or out of state agencies or companies and possible travel to out of state locations,
o Direction of, or consultation towards, effective operations and schedules of facilities’ Behavioral Programs,
o Direction of, or consultation towards the development of therapeutic and safe Behavioral Program environments,
o Periodic and as needed onsite or remote assessment of the behavioral and psychosocial needs of persons referred to, iCare Network care centers, and provide recommendations for placement.
o Facilitate or assist in training of nursing facility staff in effective and safe management of behavioral symptoms,
o Scheduling, conducting and/or coordinating multiple weekly psychoeducational groups for program participants,
o Liaison with contracted mental health practitioners
o Collaborating with facility administration and appropriate department managers re: resources, activities and schedules essential to the operations of the behavioral program,
o Responding to clinical emergencies, to assist with regulatory agency visits, surveys and issues outside of normal work hours as needed
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a Human Services field and professional licensure is highly preferred
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a similar human services field is preferred.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related Human Services field is required.
- State Licensure, as applicable, is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in having provided direct professional services to persons with mental health or behavioral conditions in an interdisciplinary treatment setting.
- Must have working knowledge (experience preferred) with various software programs such as WORD, EXCEL.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and work with all disciplines in a challenging multi-cultural environment.
- Must be knowledgeable of Quality Assurance/Improvement process as well as state/federal regulations and surveys.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language.
