What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) :
Write and edit technical documents including reports, briefings, and presentation materials
Conduct research and consult relevant information sources to develop content
Stay updated on legislation and agency policy to align writing assignments with federal requirements
Develop deliverable schedules and outlines for review with federal staff
Ensure deliverables meet 508 compliance and the standards of the Plain Writing Act of 2010
What is Required (Qualifications) :
Bachelor’s Degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing written content
Minimum of 1 year of writing experience related to migrant and refugee issues / policy
Minimum of 6 months of experience with 508 compliance and Plain Writing requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet stringent deadlines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) :
Master’s degree in social work, public administration, English, or a related field
Experience developing content related to refugee or migration issues
Knowledge of adult learning principles and theories of learning
Experience developing learning experiences on federal contracts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
