What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) : Write and edit technical documents including reports, briefings, and presentation materialsConduct research and consult relevant information sources to develop contentStay updated on legislation and agency policy to align writing assignments with federal requirementsDevelop deliverable schedules and outlines for review with federal staffEnsure deliverables meet 508 compliance and the standards of the Plain Writing Act of 2010
What is Required (Qualifications) : Bachelor’s Degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years’ experience developing written contentMinimum of 1 year of writing experience related to migrant and refugee issues / policyMinimum of 6 months of experience with 508 compliance and Plain Writing requirementsStrong attention to detail and ability to meet stringent deadlines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) : Master’s degree in social work, public administration, English, or a related fieldExperience developing content related to refugee or migration issuesKnowledge of adult learning principles and theories of learningExperience developing learning experiences on federal contractsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
