ICON Architectural Group is hiring a Controller. We are seeking trustworthy candidates who work efficiently and accurately. This position is responsible for a wide variety of finance-related tasks in preparing financial records. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer and verbal and written communication skills.
Accountabilities:
- Compile, analyze, and report financial statements and budget performance
- Create periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.
- Verify, process, and reconcile invoices accurately and efficiently ensuring proper coding and approval
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
- Provide accurate, timely and relevant financial data to managers, investors, and other entities
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP, FASB), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
- Recommend strategies to reduce costs and enhance revenue
- Perform audits and coordinate with project managers and vendors to resolve discrepancies or issues
- Assist with and act as the primary point-of-contact for auditor requests
- Prepare tax returns and documentation for external auditors
- Keep informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting and aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
- Complete analysis of employee expenditures
- Manage income and expenditure accounts
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records related to accounts payable
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve and streamline accounts payable procedures
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and minimum of 3 years accounting experience
- Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills
- Experience in handling sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Experience with accounting software and data entry
- Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and QuickBooks
- Advanced knowledge and experience of spreadsheets
- Ability to prioritize work, to be self-motivated and to decide what tasks must be done to carry out work assignments
- Ability to complete detailed work accurately under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate with customers and employees in a professional manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $86,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
