Job Description

Icon Structures is a growing general contractor for commercial construction providing pre-construction services, construction management, design build work and general contracting.
We are seeking a qualified Safety Specialist to join our team in the Wichita, Manhattan or Eudora location. We staff our projects correctly, our superintendents know how to build, and our leadership will allow you to truly be part of the organization (Your efforts will directly impact our success).
ROLES
- Provide new hire safety training and ongoing safety training for Icon personnel
- Conduct regular jobsite safety audits
- Maintain training records
- Maintain incident records and OSHA reports
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct safety/environmental incident investigations and complete associated incident reports
- Perform routine inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance and promote prevention
- Review incident data and metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective actions to address these focus areas
- Conduct safety/environmental training (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, equipment, subcontractor scope specific, etc.)
- Provide risk assessment of construction and shop locations to evaluate safety hazards and offer remedial action recommendations
- Prepare and submit safety reports on construction safety to provide insight on how well the safety program is performing
- Develop and ensure safe equipment operating techniques and provide recommendations for new or updated safety equipment
- Participate in higher risk subcontractor preconstruction meetings to ensure safety expectations are clearly communicated
- Assist project teams in the development of site specific Safety Plans, Emergency Action Plans, Job Hazard Analysis, etc.
- Provide reviews of subcontractor safety plans, JHAs, crane pick plans, etc.
- Provide support with OSHA inspections and compliance
EXPECTATIONS
