In this role, you’ll work closely with Construction Project Managers, gaining comprehensive insight into their daily responsibilities. You’ll develop experience in:
- Attending project coordination meetings with internal teams and clients.
- Assisting with effective communication of project needs and interpreting construction documents for project teams.
- Supporting project quality through monthly reporting, shop drawing reviews, and managing punch list and warranty follow-ups.
- Participating in subcontractor pre-award meetings, reviewing scopes of work, assisting with owner payment requests, handling financial reporting, and coordinating RFIs between field and design teams.
- Maintaining project schedules to meet client commitments.
- Conducting site visits to monitor subcontractor progress and perform safety audits.
- Engaging in budget discussions, assisting with monthly budget updates, and collaborating with the preconstruction team on project scope estimates.
- Building and strengthening relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.
- Previous internship experience in design-build or construction (preferred).
- Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities or student organizations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
- High initiative and passion for learning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
