Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary Duties:
Maintains Current Inventory of Supplies and Sterile Instrumentation
Stocks and replenishes items to provide ongoing availability.
Orders and puts stock away daily.
Participates in regular review of sterile stock items to ensure integrity of packaging.
Review’s expiration dates and pulls expired items in accordance with established policies and procedures. 20 %
Distributes Instrumentation and Supplies:
Issues out instrumentation and supplies as requested
Places returned instrumentation and supplies back onto shelves in Sterile Processing.
Disperses instrumentation onto shelves when all sterilization parameters have been met.
Handles with care for instrumentation and supplies to prevent breakage and damage. 20 %
Assembles Case Carts:
Places all needed supplies on / in case carts.
Places all needed instrumentation in / on case carts. 20 %
Facilitates Departmental Flow:
Empties instrumentation from washer/disinfectors onto holding rack.
Offload instrument containers from washer to place onto holding rack.
Maintains records for equipment to ensure proper operation, sterility of instruments and supplies in accordance with regulatory recommendations. 20 %
Assures Decontamination, Functionality and Overall Condition of Instrumentation in Accordance with Manufactures Recommendations and AAMI (Association for The Advancement Of Medical Instrumentation) Standards
Utilizes instrument tracking software for proper sorting and stringing of instruments and equipment.
Assembles and tests instrumentation to ensure proper functioning prior to sterilization.
Provides appropriate sterilization indicators within correct instrumentation packaging.
Sorts, and packages instrumentation and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations. 15 %
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested. 5 %
Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Required
Experience Requirements:
One Year Supply Chain Experience Preferred
One year experience in hospital or related healthcare setting. Preferred
Special Skills & Requirements
Basic working knowledge of computers. Required
